100 Portraits – No. 13

I took my original artwork from earlier – a pen and ink drawing of a ballet dancer and the acrylic painting of same image… and put them together in Photoshop. I played with the layers, filters and colors and it was interesting how it turned out in the composite image.

  1. I enjoyed this! I haven’t got photoshop but when I’m using a photo as, or in, a painting I like to go through all the effects on picasa. It makes me stop and think about the many different approaches there are to a single subject.

    • Thank you, Anne! Yes, so true. What I like about these programs is the ability to experiment without erasing the original artwork. Unexpected things happen when playing around with filters and effects. There’s something to be said for technology – and how it can benefit the artist. Having said this, there’s nothing like the “real stuff” – I love the smell of graphite and paint. 🙂
